Ms. Neda Behnam, designer, founder, and CEO of Diamonds For A Cure® is an expert goldsmith with 25 years of jewelry experience. Her background encompasses bench work, design, manufacturing, marketing, sales, the study of ancient goldsmithing techniques and antique jewelry reproductions. Neda's journey as a jewelry designer began at the age of 11 when her family moved from Iran to New York City. It was during high school in New York that Neda developed her passion for jewelry designing and goldsmithing while taking weekend courses at the famed Fashion Institute of Technology.
While attending FIT, Neda apprenticed with a designer based in SoHo New York who taught her the ancient art of granulation and working in 22-karat gold. Not only did this opportunity train Neda in a special expertise, it gave her the chance to foster her passion for vintage jewelry.
Neda began her own business trading loose faceted gemstones and making antique reproduction jewelry. She became known for Art Deco and Victorian era designs, but the influence of Neda's creativity reaches far beyond her travels and collaborations.
As a breast cancer survivor, Neda is extremely committed to supporting charities focused on research for a cure. Ms. Behnam's enthusiasm and jewelry experience has helped her develop a signature collection that will benefit charitable causes.
In launching the new Diamonds For A Cure® collection, Neda wanted to create a new line of work that was inspired by a belief that, like diamonds, life is precious. Ms. Behnam created a unique and stirring collection of superior jewelry in quality, design and value, which allows patrons to show their support for finding a cure and enjoy the distinctiveness of her sought-after jewelry.
Diamonds For A Cure® will donate a percentage of sales (from its collections) to benefit cancer research.
Ms. Behnam will continue to dedicate most of her time to raise urgently needed funds for research to help find a cure and benefit those in need.
